It's been a while since Issue 03 landed in May. I owe you a short explanation, because you deserve one.
Six days after Issue 03 went out, on May 9, my dad passed away. I stepped back over the summer to be with my family, and the Memo went quiet. I'm grateful I had that time, and grateful to be back writing for you now.
Thank you to everyone who stayed subscribed and to those who sent kind notes. The Memo returns to its every-two-weeks rhythm starting today.
One more change: MyCoddi Edge is now MyCoddi Console. "Console" says what it is: one place to run your practice from. It has also grown a lot since May, and I'm opening a small founding beta. More on both in Console Corner below.

Plan your 2027 practice before January does it for you
January arrives every year with a flood of enquiries, supplier promotions and good intentions. Advisors who walk in with a plan spend it booking. Advisors who don't spend it reacting.
October is the quiet window to decide what next year should look like. You don't need a 20-page business plan. You need three answers.
- 1Look back honestly at 2026. Pull your bookings for the year. Which three trips earned the most commission per hour of work? Which three cost you the most time for the least return? Write both lists down. Patterns show up fast.
- 2Choose one focus for 2027. One niche to deepen, one supplier relationship to build, or one client type to attract more of. Not five. Advisors who try to grow everything at once usually grow nothing in particular.
- 3Set a number and work backwards. Pick a commission target, divide by your average commission per booking, then divide by 52. That weekly number is what you manage against. It turns a hope into a habit.
Do this before the holidays and you'll start January knowing exactly which enquiries to chase hardest. That clarity is worth more than any promotion.
The reactivation email that wins back past clients
Your warmest leads aren't new. They're the clients who travelled with you once and then went quiet. They already trust you. Most just need a reason to reply.
A reactivation email works because it's personal, short, and asks for nothing big. Send it in October or November, while people are daydreaming about next year but haven't booked yet.
Hi [Name],
I was looking back at the trips I planned this year and thought of you and [travel companion]. I still smile about [one specific detail from their trip].
I'm starting to plan 2027 with my clients now, and the best availability goes early. If a trip is anywhere on your mind, even a vague one, I'd love to hear about it.
No pressure at all. Just reply with a destination, a month, or even "surprise me."
[Your name]
Why it works:
- The specific detail proves you remember them. That's what an online booking site can never do.
- "Even a vague one" lowers the bar. People reply to small asks.
- The urgency is real. Early booking genuinely matters for the best cabins, rooms and fares. Never invent urgency that isn't there.
Send it to ten past clients this week. Track how many reply. You may be surprised how many were just waiting to be asked.
Build a 90-day marketing calendar in one sitting
Most advisors know they should market consistently through the busy season. Few have a plan for what to say each week. This prompt gives you one, covering November through January.
Paste it into your AI tool of choice and fill in the brackets.
I'm a travel advisor who specialises in [your niche]. My ideal clients are [describe them: age, travel style, budget]. My main goal for the next 90 days is [e.g. 'fill my 2027 European river cruise departures' or 'book three multigenerational trips'].
Create a 12-week marketing calendar starting [start date]. For each week, give me: one theme, one social media post idea, and one email or newsletter idea. Include seasonal moments my clients care about, such as holiday gift trips, New Year travel resolutions, and early-booking deadlines. Keep every idea specific to my niche, avoid generic travel clichés, and mark the two weeks where a direct booking call to action makes the most sense.
Twelve weeks of ideas in ten minutes means you'll never again stare at a blank screen wondering what to post.

Apply for a founding beta spot →Getting ready for wave season
Wave season, roughly January through March, is the cruise industry's busiest booking period. Lines roll out their strongest promotions, and travellers who've been daydreaming all winter finally commit.
The advisors who do best in wave season prepare in the autumn, not in January.
- Know your lines' offers early. Watch for promotion announcements from your key cruise partners and note the deadlines. A clear "book by" date is genuine, useful urgency for clients.
- Build a shortlist now. Make a list of past clients and warm leads who've mentioned a cruise. Wave season is the perfect reason to follow up.
- Prepare your content in advance. January will be busy. Draft your wave-season emails and posts in December so you can spend January on calls, not copywriting.
- Lead with value, not price. Promotions get attention, but clients book with the advisor who explains which offer actually fits them. That's your edge over a booking site.
Pair this with the marketing calendar from section 03, and your first quarter of 2027 is already half planned.
Until next time
It's good to be back. If something in this issue helped you, forward it to an advisor friend who'd find it useful. That's the single best way to help the Memo grow.
See you in two weeks.
